News out of Diageo as we race towards the end of the last quarter of 2013. Diageo announced back in November two new brand Orphan Barrel and Blade & Bow. In early 2014 we should see two new bourbon's that will be sold under the Orphan Barrel band. These bourbons will be sold in very limited quantities, for $75 to $125 per bottle. Then later in the year Diageo plans to release two new whiskies under the Blade & Bow brand.
As is well know in the industry Diageo has been caught on the outside looking in when it comes to the Bourbon category. Even with all of their production capability they still must contract with other suppliers for their whiskey in the Bulleit brand. Furthermore, industry source say that Diageo's current contract supplier with terminate its relationship this coming March of 2014. No information has leaked out about the source of Diageo's newest Brands.
